New footage from SOMA, the follow up to Amnesia

Frictional Games has put up a new video for their new title SOMA. Titled "Upsilon," it gives us a brief glimpse at one of the game's environments. The video was released along with a new blog post.

In case you didn't get a look at the creepy-awesome gameplay teaser from last October, here it is too:

Designer Thomas Grip writes in the blog post: "We want the player to constantly feel as if they are inside a flowing narrative. It is so common that a game is distinctly split into story and puzzle/action moments. We want to blur the boundaries here and make it impossible to distinguish between the two. Whatever the player does it should feel as if it is part of the story. We do not want to have sections that simply feel like blockers to the next narrative moment. From start to finish the player should be drenched in a living, breathing world of storytelling."

Frictional Games previously developed Amnesia: The Dark Descent. (It should be noted that the sequel, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, was developed by The Chinese Room.) I, for one, am immensely excited to find out more about this mysterious SOMA project. Sadly, it looks like it won't be coming out until 2015.
