Telltale Games working on Game of Thrones, Borderlands games

At Spike's VGX awards, Telltale Games confirmed rumors that it was working on a video game adaptation of HBO's epic fantasy series "Game of Thrones" with a very brief teaser trailer:

Sadly, gameplay footage has yet to be revealed, but Telltale says it will be "taking advantage of all the fiction" for its adaptation. This may indicate that the game will take inspiration from A Song of Ice and Fire, the George R.R. Martin book series the Game of Thrones show is based on. The press release also promised that the deal was "multi-year, multi-title," but would not confirm whether the game would feature characters or actors from the show.

Telltale also announced Tales from the Borderlands, a new collaboration with Gearbox Software. As you'd expect, it's a new adventure game set in the world of Gearbox's Borderlands series. This too had a teaser trailer, but it's a bit more substantial:

Telltale Games previously worked on The Walking Dead: Season 1, and is currently also working on The Wolf Among Us (read our review of the first episode here) and The Walking Dead: Season 2.

Sounds like they have a lot on their plate! But I, for one, am deeply excited for Telltale's upcoming projects. Game of Thrones needs an excellent video game (let's forget about the last one that was made). Given the incredibly high body count and painful decisions found in Telltale's The Walking Dead, I can't think of a studio more fit to adapt the infamously death-ridden world of Westeros.
