1979 Revolution: Black Friday launches Kickstarter

Navid Khonsari, former Rockstar Games employee, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for his new title, 1979 Revolution: Black Friday.

If it is successfully funded, 1979 Revolution will be an action/adventure game based on true events. Set in 1979 Iran, the player will be tasked with sparking a revolution. The game promises a "mature narrative," with graphic novel-style cinematics and a cast that includes award-winning actors from Argo and HBO's Homeland. The game will also be episodic, with each episode being about two hours long.

Khonsari previously worked on such titles as Grand Theft Auto III, Max Payne, Manhunt, and Alan Wake. His new company, iNK Stories, is primarily designing the game for tablets and smartphones, but bringing the game to PC, Mac, and consoles is their "first priority" if funding permits it.

1979 Revolution: Black Friday has 31 days to meet its goal of raising $395,000.
