Adventure Time Creator Joins Double Fine's Broken Age

Double Fine had an interesting announcement at their "Day of the Devs" event in San Francisco: Pendleton Ward is joining the voice cast of their new adventure game, Broken Age.

Ward is best known as the creator of Cartoon Network's hit show Adventure Time. He voices several characters in the show, including Lumpy Space Princess. Additionally, Ward created the Youtube series Bravest Warriors.

In Broken Age, Ward will be joining a voice cast that already includes Jack Black, Hynden Walch (Adventure Time's Princess Bubblegum), and Jennifer Hale (whose extensive list of credits includes FemShep in Mass Effect).

At the "Day of the Devs" event, Double Fine played a video of Ward recording lines in the studio, as well as improvising with writer/director Tim Schafer, whose previous credits include Grim Fandango and Full Throttle.

Broken Age, aka "Double Fine Adventure," was funded by an extremely successful Kickstarter campaign that raised $3,336,371. It will be released in two acts for PC, Mac OS X, Linux, iOS, and Android.

The first act of Broken Age is set for release in January 2014.
