The Elder Scrolls Online Headed Towards Free To Play
Only a few months away from the one year anniversary of The Elder Scrolls Online release, and fans and enemies of the game alike have received a bombshell bit of news. The Elder Scrolls Online will be heading to a free to play model, dubbed Tamriel Unlimited. The news coincided with the reveal of the June 9, 2015 release date of the Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of the game and will go live on both consoles and PC on that date as well. There is a slight catch however, as rather than being a truly free to play model it'd be more accurate to call it a buy-and-play model similar to Guild Wars 2 or The Secret World. Players will still have to buy a copy of the game in order to play, and once in game they can either pick a premium subscription based model or play Tamriel Unlimited. Regardless of where you stand on the news, I think there is one thing everyone can agree on; The Confrontation cinematic they released alongside the news is rather epic.
