Blizzcon Just Got More Metal
Since 2005, Blizzcon has been an annual event for fans of Blizzard Entertainment titles to come together for a couple days of meeting en masse with the exception of 2012. During the event, gamers congregate together to celebrate the legacies of Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo as well as giving nods to other Blizzard titles as far back as their gone but not forgotten title The Lost Vikings. For a couple days, attendees experience everything from costume contests to competitive events, and of course new reveals of Blizzard's latest plans for their games and as seen last year, new coming titles like Heroes of the Storm.
But among all the success of the event, there is generally an area that has been hit and miss ever since 2005; The closing concert. Over the years there have been big sendoffs, and quivering whimpers, from the talent (and sometimes, lack thereof) chosen for the final moments of Blizzcon. After last year's borderline fiasco with Blink 182, many were wondering who would be picked this year. Minds were blown when Blizzard officially revealed that Metallica would be playing on November 8th to close the event.
