The Evil Within's Recommended Specs Finally Revealed
Today the upcoming and highly anticipated horror title by Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within, has officially gone gold. Set to release on October 14th, the title has also had the recommended system specifications released but still no minimum requirements in sight; and honestly, for a cross generation and cross platform game it comes across as pretty brutal.
Recommended PC System Specifications
64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8
i7 with four plus cores
4 GBs RAM
50 GB of hard drive space
GeForce GTX 670 or equivalent with 4GBs of VRAM
High Speed Internet Connection
Steam account and activation

What was most concerning was that in the revelation of the specs, they also noted that while no minimum specs have been released that 4GBs of VRAM is still recommended no matter your set up. This has already caused quite an uproar with message boards for the games across multiple forums beginning to light up topic after topic calling that out specifically. The game's requirements are also being compared at large to the summer 2014 title Wolfenstein: The New Order. In a few short weeks we'll know for sure if these specifications are an overestimate or if they're right on point, but for the moment people are crying foul rather than crying fear.
