Amidst Chaos, New Homefront Title Lives On
Only days after Crytek would claim to be financially stable once more, more layoffs and studio closures strike again. As it appears Crytek has gone from a gracefully sinking vessel to a rapidly dropping disaster, Deep Silver and Koch Media Group have saved Homefront: The Revolution from going down with the ship.
Dr. Klemens Kundratitz the CEO of Koch Media Group had this to say;
“We are thrilled to see another great IP joining the Deep Silver universe, we strongly believe in the potential of Homefront: The Revolution and trust in the new team to continue the path they have been walking in the last years.”
Homefront is not the first series to be picked up in full over the years by Deep Silver, gamers may remember with the collapse of THQ that Deep Silver bought the Saints Row franchise, and successfully delivered the critically acclaimed Saints Row IV which took a much wackier turn, even by the standards of Saints Row. The new purchase has Homefront fans divided almost as much as the radical changes of the first trailer, but even then many still agree it's better off in the hands of Deep Silver than risking being lost to the ages with Crytek.
