Firefly Online

Firefly, a 14 episode classic cut short by the television networks is still alive and well in the hearts of fans across the globe. The interesting blend of sci-fi meets spaghetti westerns helped the crew of Serenity and those they met along the way dock safely in the memories of many whether they were fans or not. Nearly everyone has at least heard of Firefly or the movie Serenity which attempted to serve as an ending for the short-lived series.

Recently announced at San Diego's 2014 Comic-Con, Firefly will try to make another stand though this time it's not in the form of a movie or show. This time it will be in the form of Firefly Online, a way to take fans to the next level and let them live in the setting that they love to watch, and taking it a little bit further by having the original cast doing voice work for their characters in the game. Reactions to the reveal trailer have been mixed, as it appears to take less of an MMORPG approach and looks to be more Tactical-RPG focused which may or may not work to the benefit of the final title. Only time will tell as the game development cycle presses onward if this will be a good service to the series, or a moment which will go down as a failure.
