Hello Mayors! We’re excited to announce that:
Go-Go Town! is coming to Early Access on June 18th!
This has been the culmination of quite a lot of work, and at the same time, it's just the beginning. We're grateful to our existing community and the help they've been, and so excited for new players to join us as well on the journey to 1.0. We've put a lot of work into expanding and refining the game, so if you've played a playtest, here are some of the new features you’ll experience with Early Access:
● Expanded Industry Introducing: protein! You can harvest it from mushrooms on the farm, or use the seafood converter in the Fishing Zone, and different shops will use it in new recipes. We've also added new recipes for processors, so you can make cheese, honey and butter, as well as additional seeds for the farm and a new rice paddy option to add near water.
● New shops Want to much on fresh fish and chips? Have your fortune told? Head to the gym? We've got SIX new shops for you to add to your town!
● New recipes What goes along with new shops? New recipes! We've also added some new things to older shops - so if you want to add on some cheesy fries to your fast food joint, now you can.
● New décor
● Want to build the urban paradise you've always dreamed of? Bollards, telephone booths and more are now at your disposal.
● Want a more automated version of the market stall? Enter the Vending Machine.
● New vehicles, you say? Why yes! And more to come throughout EA
● New tourists There are six new types of tourists that will come visit your town, from Influencers to Foodies, Fitness-obsessed folks, Clowns and more! They'll each have different things that make them happy, so cater your town to which ones you want to come back. If you want to have them join your town, tourists will have special requests: build something, collect something, or sometimes just pay them - it depends!
● New and expanded areas Caves, deserts, deep forest - how far can you explore? There are also new ways to break new ground—literally! Look for cracks in walls and see what you (+ a power tool) can accomplish
● Weather events Both good and bad weather has come to Go-Go Town! - and it might bring some special new items and events with it! You'll also be able to see upcoming weather in your Calendar app.
● Storage filtering You can now choose from 1-4 items go to into a storage bin, and your workers will sort accordingly
● Updated build mode We've made things easier to build in your town - edit and delete are now the same control, and now when you place décor items, you can rotate them before they get placed. Also because there's so many options, we've added new submenus for things like benches, trees, and more!
● Updated AI NPCs were pretty clueless at their job, we’ve made them less clueless. Workers will prioritize the needs of the town, couriers will carry multiple items, and more!
● Camera controls Zoom in and out, get some angled views - you're ready for your close up!
● Updated map The map is now super-charged. There are more elements that you can see, like individual tourists, you can filter it to only show what you're interested in - or what you'd like to hide away
● Pacing & Balance We've updated how quickly you move through the tech tree, how easily things unlock, tourist frequency, and overall gameplay loop experience.
● General quality of life upgrades - things marked with * are inspired by community feedback!
● *We've changed language in areas to be more clear - machines will now say "set recipe" so it's super 2clear.
● Save management has been added, and your save file will show details about your town when you load it.
● *Un-hire couriers (we know this has been a big ask!)
● *Customize the colours of buildings and shops. This isn't fully customizable yet, but there are now colour randomizers attached to most buildings.
● You can now hold to pick up and drop
● *Re-bind keys (also very requested!)
● Controllers will now rumble
And finally: Next Fest kicks off TOMORROW, but our updated demo is live RIGHT NOW, so you can check it out immediately!
