The Ship: HD Remake

The Ship began as a Half-Life mod, later releasing as a stand-alone game in 2006. It was an unorthodox multiplayer first-person shooter set on a ocean liner. Players were tasked with roleplaying as guests on a cruise ship, mingling with NPCS whilst attempting to murder each other with flare guns and fire axes. Edinburgh based studio Blazing Griffin bought the license for the murder-mystery game after the original studio disbanded due to financial difficulties. Following a failed Kickstarter campaign, the new developers are now planning to release a high definition remake.

So far, there’s only some cool art and a short teaser trailer, but already the high-def remake looks to make more of the original’s 1920’s jazz-age style and fashion. With such a novel concept, the HD remake is probably worth keeping an eye on.
