Star Wars: X-Wing and TIE Fighter special editions head to GOG
GOG.com has teamed up with Disney Interactive in order to bring several classic LucasArts games onto CD Project’s DRM-free service. Good Old Games will be offering over 20 of the old developer’s titles, including special editions of both Star Wars: X-Wing and TIE Fighter – re-releases which fans of the series have been requesting for years. This will be the first time LucasArts' well-loved DOS space combat sims will be “available digitally” and “ready to play with no fuss on modern operating systems.” Other games from LucasArts' catalogue include old adventure games Sam & Max Hit the Road, The Secret of Monkey Island and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. Bioware’s RPG, Knights of the Old Republic, is also being brought to the digital service.
There will be several more, as yet unannounced, Lucasfilm titles making their way to GOG in the coming months. You can pick up the Star Wars games for £6.19/$9.99 a piece. Now let’s party like it’s the end of The Return of the Jedi.
