Shooty Mans 3: Soldiers Of Gun Violence Pokes Fun At The Industry
A new advertising campaign from UK retailer GAME sees them poking fun at the industry with the opportunity to win a free game. This could be the best thing since Duty Calls - the EA tongue-in-cheek promotional game of earlier in the year.
Generic shooters are getting a slight bashing this year from different segments of the industry. Of course the most obvious target of this scrutiny is the industry's biggest selling series of all time; Call of Duty. Earlier in the year ea launched Duty Calls, which is a hilarious online game that exaggerates the most overused elements of the modern FPS. See video at the bottom of the page for a gameplay video.
Now, GAME have launched a new banner advert that invites users to interact with their site to become the Member of the Month (remind me when to get excited). Those picked will be given the chance to win a free game. At the bottom of the banner (see left), they offer their invention of the most generic game ever: Shooty Mans 3: Soldiers Of Gun Violence.
Awesome, right? Just to clarify this is NOT a real game, it's just a way to make themselves look trendy by poking fun at the industry they are part of. You know, get down with the kids and all that jazz. Needless to say, it still is pretty funny and some members of the Video Gamer community forum have been inspired enough to create their own generic video games. Check them out below!
p.s. Fat cats are awesome!
