Video Game Voice Actors on Strike
Video Games have come a long way. We started with the pixilated adventures of Pong and now we have feature-length narratives with complex storylines and a pinch of social commentary between blowing things up with a rocket launcher in space at 60 frames per second.
Video Game Protagonists have also come a long way from being silent Italians who just whoop and cheer to being fleshed out characters with detailed histories and motives that now can (and sometimes do) illicit an emotional response. Now the voices behind everyone’s favorites like Chloe from Life is Strange and FemShep from Mass Effect are making totally unreasonable demands like Performance Bonuses and help with vocal stress.
I think the problem is that everyone’s just getting too greedy these days, making unreasonable demands because the wealth and fame has gone to their heads.
