Rise of the Tomb Raider sells less than 60k units
Rise of the Tomb Raider -- an Xbox exclusive -- released the same day as Fallout 4, reportedly sells less than 60,000 copies at launch on the Xbox One. Comparing this to the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider that plucked in around 8.5 million sales, this is a huge blow for both Microsoft and Square Enix. Sony's senior product manager, Chris Brown pointed out that poor sales may be due to releasing the same week as big titles such as, Fallout 4 and the new Bloodborne DLC.

Game director on PS4 exclusive Driveclub, Paul Rustchynsky continues on from this, stating Rise of the Tomb Raider will do "Just fine" on the PS4 when it releases on the system next year.

As well as releasing close to other massive titles such as, Halo 5, Fallout 4 and a Bloodborne DLC, It's more than likely that Rise of the Tomb Raider's initial exclusivity to the Xbox system is crippling sales too. One can only hope that Crystal Dynamics, the game's developer, is not affected the bad launch sales.
