Jacking combat (cont.)

Another new gameplay feature is the addition of a health bar, meaning Crash can take more than 1 hit before dying. Crash will also be able to use the voodoo mask Aku Aku as a skateboard to travel across areas faster, and as a shield in combat. Also included in the game is a drop in - drop out co-op play.

Are all traditions gone?

As for those who consider themselves Crash purists, fear not. The game will still include some classically styled Crash levels. For the uninitiated, that means a lot of jumping on crates and carefully making your way across large chasms.

Another interesting note is that there will be over 7,000 lines of dialogue in the game, the goal being that the player will never hear the same dialogue twice. Radical Entertainment's in-house composer will be doing the music for this game, but will use music from previous games as a baseline. Most of the voice actors from previous games will also be returning.

As expected, Crash’s look will be more modern in this game. Though the game is coming for many different platforms, there are some base level graphical elements that will be in all versions of the game, such as beautiful lighting arrangements, hand painted textures, and organically stylized shapes and forms.

Main focus on Wii

The Wii version of the game is being touted as the main game, meaning the Wii remote controls. Players can use the Wii remote for special attacks and throws using the motion sensor, and targeting attacks are used by pointing the Wii remote at the screen to lock on to the enemies. It also takes advantage of the Wii hardware by outputting at 480P and 16:9 widescreen, as well as Wi-Fi LAN gameplay.

Return to grace?

Crash of the Titans seems to be a potential return to grace for the series. With the addition of a co-op mode and many new elements to the series, this may be a crash that you want to watch. It is scheduled for release on October 2nd 2007 in North America and October 9th 2007 in Europe.
