Turn Based Gameplay with a Twist (cntd)
We have seen that these battles are engaging and fun to watch, with action occurring all over the battlefield. Players will be able to have some control over their character’s maneuvering thought they will not have free range. Imageepoch has promised that the numerous characters that join your party will have unique abilities, so players will always have something new to watch as new allies join L’Arc’s side.
In addition to this the players will have access to Rogress, powerful spirits that L’Arc can summon into battle to dominate the battlefield. Up to three characters from your party can team up together for an epic and powerful Trinity Act allowing them all to use unique abilities. Players will also be able to customize their weapons using magical orbs, adding a great degree of customization.
All about Story Telling
The graphics look very well done, especially for a forty dollar Wii game. They are anime inspired and cell shaded, with great detail going into individual characters. We have seen a few of the locations and a lot of work and care has gone into them. Jungles are green and dense and the world map is detailed and interesting to traverse. However, no random encounters occur as you travel through the Meridian Empire. Players are able to see monsters well before they have to fight them. Although the game is in 3D, character dialogue and exposition takes place in 2D, focusing on facial features. Humor is very important in this game, and seeing the character’s expressions and reactions as they talk is one of the best parts. The cut scenes are rendered in a vibrant anime look, telling an epic story that will change as players interact with the world.
One of the most important facets of the JRPG genre is its story telling. This game will have an ever changing cast of characters which will influence the story as the player assembles different parties. Ignition Entertainment has stated that
Arc Rise Fantasia will feature an amazing storyline with movie like production qualities. Ignition wants to make a game that will entertain long-time fans of the genre as well as open the game to a new audience. Characters interact with each other to tell a dynamic and interesting narrative that relies heavily on the players choices.
Great Production Values for a Wii Game
Arc Rise Fantasia is shaping up to be a great addition to any Wii game library. With awesome anime-inspired graphics, the game will tell an epic tale worthy of the JRPG genre. L’Arc’s story promises to be full of alliances, love, betrayal and comedy, shaping the very face of the Meridian Empire. Combat should be an exciting ordeal with each character’s unique moves, powerful Trinity Act attacks and Rogress spirits powering the way to victory. Players will be able to shape their party and their characters weapons, fully customizing for whatever strategy you see fit. Not only that but a forty dollar price tag for easily a sixty hour game is pretty appetizing
Arc Rise Fantasia will be a title to look forward to when it is finally released in North America later this month.
