At the auction house, players can bid on items and they can also put their own items up so people can bid on them.

Making a return in City Folk are holidays. Throughout the year, special events will occur. During Christmas, Jingle will appear and give you a piece of furniture from the Christmas-themed series. Other occasions that have been confirmed thus far are Halloween and Bunny Day, which is likely Easter. Previous Animal Crossing games have seen monthly events such as the fishing tourney and bug-off. The winner usually got a trophy as well as a letter from Tortimer, the mayor of the town.
