Ubisoft has confirmed that their next installment in the Ghost Recon franchise, Future Solider, will not only be coming to PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, but also to Wii. Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot has said that it's not going to be a Wii port of its HD brethren's version. It will apparently be developed by a different team strictly for the Wii.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories developer interested in sequel

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories developer interested in sequel
Climax Group, the developer responsible for last year's re-imagining of the original Silent Hill for the Wii, says it is interested in creating a sequel.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is the second Silent Hill game for Climax Group and the third game in the series to be made outside of Japan. They released Silent Hill: Origins for the PSP and PS2 in 2008, while Double Helix created Silent Hill: Homecoming in 2009.

Shattered Memories has gotten fairly positive reviews and a combined Metacritic score of 77. However, it'll be up to Konami to decide on whether or not we see a sequel on the Wii in the future.

It's also worth pointing out that this is fast for a Wii game, faster than all the others in fact. Out of all the Wii games released in Japan New Super Mario Bros. was the fastest to release the 3 million mark.

Netflix Officially Coming to the Wii

Netflix Officially Coming to the Wii
After months of rumors and, as our own Falconer reported , chances of the video rental service coming to the Wii deemed "excellent," the two companies will announce the advent of Netflix on the Nintendo console sometime today, according to the New York Times. This brings the Wii a little closer to contending with the PS3 and the Xbox 360 as a useful addition to any home setup, with functionality surpassing that of just playing games.

NetFlix coming to a Wii near you?

NetFlix coming to a Wii near you?
All Things Digital's Peter Kafka interviewed Netflix CEO Reed Hastins during this year's CES. When the topic of Netflix's availability on gaming consoles arose, Hastins said that the chances of Netflix coming to the Nintendo Wii were "excellent". This lends credence to the rumors of a Wii/Netflix partnership that first surfaced in early 2009. While still a rumor, I'd say this one is almost certainly true.

Metroid Prime: Trilogy Ceases Production

Metroid Prime: Trilogy Ceases Production
Metroid Prime: Trilogy is no longer being shipped or published by Nintendo which means that no new copies of the game will be released. Expect the game to become a lot rarer soon so if you want it, you better get it soon or you'll have to pay an extortionate amount for it.

"Metroid Prime Trilogy is no longer being shipped. Having said that, you may be able to find what you seek through the secondhand video game market." Said, a Nintendo rep. I think Nintendo are the first developer to encourage buying a game pre-owned.
