A new past for the Elves, a new future for gamers.

In an impressive feat of imagination, 10tacle Studios steps into the future of action-RPG?s by sending the player backwards through legend and myth, to an age where the Elves were newly born. Those familiar with the Elven race are constantly greeted by nearly immortal beings that have existed since before the rise of Man, and often face an Elven character who knows the truth of the past. In Elveon, you become the Elves of the past, and fight your way through the truths that will one day become legend.

he Unreal engine creates a feeling of reality in Elveon.

As with many games in development at this time, Elveon is being built upon the Unreal 3 graphics engine, which is the latest in graphical design. The demo at the E3 in 2006 made an appreciable impression on viewers, especially with the level of realism the Unreal engine is bringing the world of Naon.

The weather changes in real time, where you can watch a clear sky be covered with clouds, and then start to rain. Players can literally watch puddles form on the ground during the rain. The graphics run the other direction as well, along with the ripples. When the rain stops, the clouds disperse differently than how they appeared.

The various arenas where gamers will find themselves have also been tailored to create as much realism as possible. In old, overgrown ruins, trees and plants have erupted through the stone foundations, creating debris which remains instead of mysteriously having been removed, as was the graphic style not that long ago. In one of the forest scenarios, light filtered convincingly through the trees, creating shades and illuminated pockets on the grass the swayed in the occasional breeze.

Majestical music

The music in Elveon so far stands well with the visuals. The battle music makes good use of several instruments, creating feelings of anticipation, or danger, in the appropriate circumstances. There is no notice of whether or not characters in the game will have voices, or if the game will use text in order to confer information, but with the attention to detail we have seen so far, it looks likely.
