You got it, KW, as I knew you would! :)

Midwinter really tried to stand out from the crowd as a game and succeeded, even deserving a sequel. If only there was a remake as well...

Guess I'm up then...

This game was a favourite of mine. Shouldn't need any clues really....but we'll see if no-one has it by tomorrow.

Using the medal as a clue, it appears to be the UK's Distinguished Service Order (red ribbon with blue borders): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distinguis ... vice_Order

The winged lapel pin suggests RAF dress uniform. The style of uniform and colors of the uniforms suggest WWII.

Ace of Aces?

@Wolfie...I was sure you'd know it

@CP...Nope, not Ace of Aces.

And BTW (Clue 1)...this game was not based during WWII.

Aha! Wings! http://www.mobygames.com/game/amiga/win ... tId,31487/

Post-WWII, the RAF switched from brown/tan/khaki uniforms to blue ones. If the game wasn't WWII, it _must_ be WWI. _And_, the UK handed out about 8900 DSOs in WWI, so that gave me a vector to check.

Correct...Well done CP...you're up.

I'm sure Wolfie is kicking himself now, though. Such an easy one.

One of my all-time favorite games, which has, unfortunately never been revived.

Yup. Can you imagine modern graphics being used? It would be awesome! And if they would expand the area of operations to cover the globe.....

Microprose produced some seriously innovative and entertaining games that I thoroughly enjoyed. (Sea Rogue and Darklands being but two of them.) But it seems like about the only games that were updated by the descendents of Microprose are games with "Sid Meier's" in the title.

Back to you.

OK...I've got another game that I played waaaaay too much of in my younger days. This pic is probably the least obvious one from the game that I could find. Still...shouldn't take you guys long to figure it out....therefore, no clues yet.

What's throwing me most is that I don't see any of that ubiquitous orange roof tile on any of the surrounding buildings. The image isn't pixelated enough to be the first Caesar. And by Caesar III, they knew enough that instead a ring of pennants, they needed to show burlap/canvas awnings for the upper tier.

So I'll go with Caesar II.

Ah. A city view of one of the Civilization titles? II? III? _Not_ I or IV.
