Just listening to the players .... mouth noises (I can't bring myself to describe them as "comments" as "comments" would seem to require some thought to generate them), I'm wondering if a negative IQ is possible.

I'll grant that this kind of gameplay is more energetic than being a career couch potato, but redeeming qualities still seem lacking.

Yep, and believe it or not this is why CoD sells so much every year.

1 - Kids getting overexcited about the simplest of things
2 - People making videos about it
3 - There are MILLIONS of them playing CoD for that one 'moment'

It's why games are getting dumber, and why so many developers just give up and aim to get some money from these types of players. An FPS is not deemed worthy (or any game for that matter) if you cannot spin around in the air, shoot a random bullet and get four headshots, or quick scope for that matter *sigh*

Give a finite number of monkeys a typewriter each and an infinite amount of time to hammer on them and eventually, one of them will write something spectacular.

...That doesn't mean that that one monkey is any less stupid than the other ones.

"Constipated Nerdgasim"

I do feel that the agony of that clip was worth learning that phrase, because I am going to make it a point, from now on, to use it in common conversation.

Personally, there is much more at play in the floundering industry, but it is hard to ignore that this (note original vid) isn't helping. I make it a point to avoid console multiplay like that just because I don't have the patience for that crap anymore but I'm not saying that PC is too much better though. I mean to find a decent L4D game back in the day my team had to spring for our own private server because of the constant ass-hattery that went along with random multiplay.

This is one of the reasons that even though I am looking forward to Planetside 2.... I'm worried at the same time.
