Steaming Rage is Now Official, Players Rejoice!

For a while there, EA's Origin seemed to be the top contender for exclusive rights to id Software's upcoming and much anticipated Rage. Official confirmation came via Bethesda's Twitter account, which simply stated that RAGE (capitalized, so it's even angrier) will use Steamworks, thus taking advantage of Steam's in-built features like online DRM, multiplayer hosting, achievement system, voice chat and friend lists.

There was a distinct possibility that RAGE could have been released on Origin exclusively. In 2008, is Software entered a publishing agreement with EA. In 2009, id was purchased by ZeniMax Media, which is the parent company for Bethesda. The aforementioned contract thus ended, leaving us with hot, steamy rage. Either way, all this rage, steam talk has got me all hot and bothered!
