Just finished God of War III and replayed the original. Both as as great as always; I'll be starting the second one soon. Alan Wake is great - fantastic music and narrative. Pokemon: SoulSilver is taking up most of my time though - so addictive and fun.

In an interview with CVG, Peter Molyneux revealed that the Grand Theft Auto series has been a major influence on some parts of Fable III. It has had the biggest influence on the way they handled the menus.
Rather than go for the standard "press start", Lionhead opted to incorporate The Sanctuary instead. This is basically a collection of rooms for your inventory, maps and so on where you can walk about rather than scroll through a menu.
Despite Microsoft still not announcing a price for the upcoming motion controlled Kinect, retailers have been doing a lot of 'speculation'. A lot of major retailers have been listing Kinect with a price of $149.99 including Amazon and Walmart but Microsoft stated that they were just guesses.
However, things are slightly different now with Kinect appearing on the actual Microsoft Store for the same price. It's a little harder to cover this one up by blaming it on estimates. While, this is no official announcement it's making it seem much more likely than it already was.
Sega have just announced that Sonic Free Riders will be a launch game for Kinect on the Xbox 360. Some of us may have noticed a sneaky Sonic logo showing up in the Kinetic launch title list in Microsoft's E3 conference earlier but Sega have now revealed the first details. As the title gives away, the game will play similar to the Sonic Riders games that have shown up on other consoles.
According to Sega, Sonic Free Riders will involve "twisting, turning, and jumping in an exhilarating race to be first to cross the finish line.". It will also, "take full advantage of Kinect". This Kinect title will allow players to play as various Sonic characters but the option to play as Avatars will also be available if you wish to do so.
It was obvious that Gear of War 3 would eventually be released. Speculation suggested that it would have been announced on the Jimmy Fallon show last night but Cliff Bleszenski's appearance was changed to Monday. I don't think Microsoft were informed of this though.
Yes, the above statement is actually correct. After 6 years of development, countless delays and huge gaps where nothing was released, Alan Wake is finally finished. It was revealed on Matias Myllyrinne's (A Remedy employee) Twitter account where he said the following:
Gamers have been waiting for Alan Wake for a long time but it looks like we'll finally see if it meets expectations. Expect to see the game on shelves May 14th in Europe and May 18th in the US, exclusively on the Xbox 360.
After the PlayStation 3 Slim was announced, it was heavily rumoured that Microsoft were doing the same thing and releasing an Xbox 360 Slim. Despite, all of the information that was apparently "leaked" and all of the supposed details, its existence was denied by Microsoft. This time, however, there's pictures involved.
Today, it was announced that the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive, Crackdown 2, will be released at the beginning of July. Yes, that means you will actually have something to play in the typical gaming summer drought. Well, if you have a 360 anyway.
There's high hopes for the sequel as the original game was praised by many. We'll find out if it meets our expectations on July 6th, 8th and 9th in North America, Asia/Austrailia/New Zealand and Europe respectively.
Posted on Robert Bowling's/FourZeroTwo's Twitter was the following:
"http://www.mapathy.com - Feeling the effects of Mapathy? It's okay, the cure is hitting #Xboxlive in just 3 short weeks. #MW2"
If you follow the link to the "Mapathy" website it details that over 20 million people could be at risk from being bored of the current maps available in Modern Warfare 2. Being the kind folks that they are, Infinity Ward had whipped up a cure which they will distribute over Xbox Live on March 30.
If the "Mapathy" talk confuses you, all you need to know is that Infinity Ward have announced that the Modern Warfare 2 DLC will be released on March 30.
Ska Studios have announced a sequel to the action packed XBLA game: The Dishwasher Dead: Samurai. The sequel, entitled The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, will be released “when it’s done” exclusively on the Xbox Live Arcade. There will be multiple new weapons including the Violence Hammer ("a section of girder wrapped in barbed wire and random hardware") and the Painkiller ("a six foot long syringe").
Today, it was announced that the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta will launch on the 3rd of May. As previously announced, you will need a copy of Halo 3: ODST to get access to the beta.
Currently, Halo: Reach is scheduled for a Fall 2010 release exclusively on the Xbox 360.
Today, Sega released a demo for their upcoming racing game, Sonic & All Stars Racing via Xbox Live. The demo will hopefully give a good impression of the game handles as that is probably the most important factor of a game like this.
With it's biggest competitor being the hugely popular Mario Kart, Sonic will have to give us a great game in order to top the plumber himself.
The Xbox 360 racing game, Forza Motorsport 3, has even more cars available now through another DLC pack. This pack features 10 cars and it costs 400 Microsoft Points. The release of this pack is to market some of the cars that are being shown at the Detroit Auto Show this week so if you can't make that, then this should do.
Microsoft's rather pricey alternative to buying physical X360 games, Games On Demand, will be adding three more games to it's collection. Both Kane & Lynch: Dead Men and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 have been released today while Dead Rising will be up for download on the 26th of January.
GRAW 2 is available in all regions with the exception of Japan whereas Kane & Lynch takes a rather odd decision and is released everywhere bar Korea and the United States! I don't know why either. No word on pricing yet but don't expect for any bargains, though some prices have decreased recently.
Konami's upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive, Ninety-Nine Nights II has been given a release date of Spring 2010 via the game's official site. This is presumably just the Japanese release date but we can expect it to be discussed soon.
A demo for Capcom's upcoming sci-fi shooter Dark Void will be released tomorrow (6th) on Xbox Live and Thursday (7th) on the PlayStation Network. Dark Void has one key difference to most third person shooters which is a jet pack allowing for some intense aerial firefights. The full game will be released on January 22nd in Europe for the X360, PS3 and PC.
