Donkey Kong is one of Nintendo's most well known characters but he hasn't had a proper game for a while. However, that is changing as
Donkey Kong Country Returns has now been announced. It will play as a 2D side-scroller and looks to be a great way for the character to return.
Fortunately, the wait won't be too long and
Donkey Kong Country Returns will be released this Holiday season.
Metroid: Other M had been previously delayed to an unannounced release date but Nintendo have now given a date for the Nintendo/Team Ninja collaboration. August 31 will see the release of the latest installment in the
Metroid series.
Another trailer was also shown and the game is looking just as good as before, in terms of graphics and gameplay. Expect this to be one of the Wii's big games this year.
As most of you will know Nintendo have seen huge success with the Wii everywhere in the world. Japan, however, have been particularly keen on the system. As of the 28th of February there has been a total of 10,009,736 Wiis sold in Japan. This is a very big achievement.

Nintendo have announced the release date for the biggest Wii game of the year.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be arriving in North America on May 23. This is definitely something to look forward to; the main entries of the
Mario series rarely disappointed.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii has sold over 3 million units since it's initial release on the 3rd of December 2009. Roughly it took seven weeks to get there. It's also worth pointing out that this is fast for a Wii game, faster than all the others in fact. Out of all the Wii games released in Japan
New Super Mario Bros. was the fastest to release the 3 million mark.
Metroid Prime: Trilogy is no longer being shipped or published by Nintendo which means that no new copies of the game will be released. Expect the game to become a lot rarer soon so if you want it, you better get it soon or you'll have to pay an extortionate amount for it.
"Metroid Prime Trilogy is no longer being shipped. Having said that, you may be able to find what you seek through the secondhand video game market." Said, a Nintendo rep. I think Nintendo are the first developer to encourage buying a game pre-owned.
