Square have confirmed that the
Parasite Eve spin-off,
The 3rd Birthday will be coming to Europe. However, no release date has been given; all we know is that it's coming to the EU. The original
Parasite Eve on the PlayStation was never released in Europe but the sequel was.
Despite no release date for Europe, it's currently scheduled to be released sometime this year in Japan, exclusively on the PSP.
July 6 will see the release of a demo for the upcoming
Patapon 3 which will be available to normal PSN users as well as PSN+ users. It's safe to expect plenty of eyeball monsters armed with a range of weapons and chanting to a perfect beat when it you play it.
According to the
PlayStation Blog, the demo will let players play with new characters (Including a Superhero Patapon) and test out the online multiplayer. For all the PSP owners who can't afford a decent memory stick, you'll be happy to know that it will only take up 110MB of your precious space.
Scott Rhode, of Sony Worldwide Studios, has told
Industry Gamers that the new
God of War on the PSP is the "best looking" title on the system. All of the games in the series have been really impressive graphically and it sounds like
God of War: Ghost of Sparta is no different.
"God of War: Ghost of Sparta. That’s a really amazing looking game. I think that this late in the PSP cycle, you're seeing the best-looking PSP game that’s been created," he said. "I don’t usually tout a single title, and say 'It’s the best ever…' but this really looks good."
You can look forward to seeing the best looking PSP game ever made later on this year.
Fans of
Metal Gear Solid will know that the upcoming PSP game,
Peace Walker, is nearly out and will no doubt be getting excited as it’s looking pretty good. Any Japanese gamers out there may want to import a copy if they speak English because the Eastern version will be going through some edits before release.
In Japan,
Peace Walker was given a C-rating which means it is only suitable for gamers 15 years old or above.
Hideo Kojima tweeted that a few cuts here and there were required in order get it this rating, rather than the D rating it was originally intended for (17 years old and above). One of these cuts include taking out the blood in the game.
Last years
Dissidia: Final Fantasy was a action RPG featuring characters from multiple
Final Fantasy games. For big fans of the series it was an essential purchase. It sold well and was generally well received so a sequel was always likely. Throw in the fact that Square Enix are the masters of spin offs, sequels and
overpriced iPhone apps.
In a recent
Twitter interview, Tetsuya Nomura, stated, "I'll do my best for a sequel to Dissidia Final Fantasy!" when asked about a sequel to the PSP game. Sounds more than likely too me which is, of course, a good thing.
Famitsu have revealed pictures of the PSP bundle for
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker which will be released on the 18th of March. It will cost ¥26,980 (US$296) and it has currently only been announced for Japan, don't expect it to be released anywhere else though.
The bundle is very limited with only 1,974 units being released. You may think the number is very specific but it's a play on the game being set during 1974.
More pictures after the jump.
The
ESRB site has four different variants of
Pinball Heroes listed for PSP. These four are
High Velocity Bowling, Hot Shots Golf, PAIN and
Uncharted and will presumably be PSP minis rather than full blown games.
It seems like each
Pinball Heroes sticks true to the game they are based on. The
Uncharted is said to let players "use flippers to hit the ball around a crashed airplane, into silhouetted character targets, and off bumpers shaped like gold".
This isn't an official announcement but rating sites have a tendency to get these things spot on.
The previously DS exclusive,
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be arriving on PSP on the 20th of October. The game will be released on this date on both UMD and download from the PlayStation Store. Nothing has been shown of the PSP version yet but development must be going well if it is coming soon.
