Chinatown Wars Nearly 50% Of M-Rated DS Sales

Chinatown Wars Nearly 50% Of M-Rated DS Sales
Last years Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was great and is one of the best games on the DS. Ben Feder, a Take-Two CEO, has revealed that the handheld GTA accounts for nearly 50% of M-rated game sales on the DS. He said that the title:

“represented nearly 50 percent of the unit sales of all M-rated DS titles in the history of the platform.”

As impressive as this may sound, it really isn't as the game still suffered from poor sales. Though it did sell better than the other 6 M-rated games on the system (Via Joystiq). Apparently a large factor of the poor sales is down to piracy.

“Piracy is a real and present danger for our industry and must be addressed, especially in the handheld market,” he said. “The commercial performance of Chinatown Wars has certainly suffered at the hands of piracy.”
