Final Fantasy XIII App Released

Final Fantasy XIII App Released
Today, Square Enix released an app for the recently released Final Fantasy XIII but it's not as exciting as it sounds. It's a digital art book titled Final Fantasy XIII Larger-Than-Life Gallery. Now, I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan and I normally love this stuff - especially when this installment has incredible visuals and art direction. However, I can't see myself buying this.

It's an art book, put simply it's a collection of pretty pictures. These pictures may look fantastic (How cute is that chocobo?!) but when it costs $8.99/£5.49 I have to draw the line. Yes, the pictures are great and like I said, I normally love this kind of stuff but that's a very steep price for the content provided. Even if it does have a calendar feature too. You can buy the original Final Fantasy or the sequel for the same price, which is worth more?

I may not be rushing to buy this but it's a step in the right direction. Having apps for full retail games can't really harm them and may actually encourage people to buy the full games which is surely a good thing.
