Killzone Also Turns 5 (Soon)

Killzone Also Turns 5 (Soon)
World of Warcraft is now 5 years old but as of November 26th so will the Killzone series. Now, Killzone may not be as popular or have the same user base as World of Warcraft but it still deserves a celebration.

Guerrilla really know how to party though with a wide range of events to celebrate the game's 5 year anniversary. First of all, there is a double XP weekend (27th - 30th) for Killzone 2 which will give players another excuse to play the pretty good multiplayer. As well as that all of the game's DLC will be reduced in price up until December 10th. There will even be a Killzone 2 Retro Tournament which will only use Beach Head and Southern Hills maps as they were in the original game.

On top of all that, Killzone.com they will be looking back on the first game with the first game being played through again, complete with commentary. Killzone.com will also be comparing the two console games side by side.

The first Killzone was released on November 26th 2004 and was considered to be quite a disappointment. It had a huge amount of hype that was almost impossible to live up to but it was still a fun enough game. The PSP version of the game, Killzone: Liberation, was an isometric version shooter which I thought was actually better than the original. Then of course, came Killzone 2 which was hyped up even more than the first game. Very few games could live up to this amount of hype and Killzone 2 didn't really. However, it was still a great game that had been improved and refined in many ways.
