Spielberg Set To Produce Halo Movie

Talk of a Halo movie has been around pretty much since the games launch back in 2001, why? Well because it would be an obvious money spinner and would be a CGI directors wet dream. Personally, I can take or leave Halo, it's good fun for a while but on a standard with PC shooters it is lacking way behind the benchmark, Half-Life 2 anyone?

Aside from my Halo bashing, the first news of a Halo movie came from Peter Jackson and Neil Blomkamp in 2006, everything has been quiet since, now we get the news that old Stevey is interested in picking up the producer role of this film.

Rumored to be based upon the novel of "The Fall of Reach" the film concerns itself with the origins of the Spartan soldiers and Master Chief, will having Spielberg's name make this film worthwhile? Well did it make Transformers? Expect to see this film either as next years summer blockbuster or in next years development hell category.
