Storm The Gates
The month of January is usually the start of a sloooowwwww stretch of time for video games, and it sucks.
But hold your horses everybody, NOT THIS YEAR.
January 2010 is turning out to be one HELL of a gaming month. What a way to kick off the year. I'm just going to give a brief rundown of a few games that will be appearing on the shelves within the next 20-25 days, along with my take.
- Bayonetta (Jan 5th): This game is getting rave reviews from all over including a 9.0 out of 10 from gametrailers.com and a 9.0 out of 10 from all-mighty Game Informer. I however, am not sold. I haven't had a chance to actually play the game, but from trailers and descriptions, It just doesn't do anything for me, I mean, I'm not into a break-dancing female model who dodges bullets. Actually, now that I think about it...NO cannot get sidetracked, I am not into Bayonetta, I give it a Thumbs Down.
- Darksiders (Jan 5th): This game won me over well before it was reviewed by any gaming powerhouse. This is one of the only games that hooked me in with a commercial since the Madden 09 Walmart commercial about the two friends getting it at midnight. This game went BOLD by talking about Grandpa's last thanksgiving, let alone it's plot of a horseman of the apocalypse fighting the hell on earth that HE created. Genius idea, Genius commercial, awesome voice acting = Thumbs Up!
- Mass Effect 2 (Jan 26th): Commander Shepard is back in this full-force sequel to the hit game Mass Effect, but this time, he has bigger fish to fry. The trailer alone is enough to make any gamer want to rush out and wait weeks until it comes out, and I just might. Also, pre-order this at Game Stop to get a special ingame set of Terminus Assault Armor and a M-490 Blackstorm gun. AWESOME, Thumbs Up!
Gamestop Exclusive In-Game Offer
Those are only a few of the several games finding their way into every gamer's disk drives this January, but be sure to keep a little cash to pay off some bills, you know, like electricity, OH, and food, gotta have some food since you will be glued to your TV for a couple months.
Thats all from me for now, but don't forget, a little sunshine is always good too.
