New Jane Jensen adventure coming to Xbox 360

New Jane Jensen adventure coming to Xbox 360
Gabriel Knight was one of my favorite point-and-click adventure series back in the day. The first and third titles - Sins of the Father and Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned - featured Tim Curry with a cajun accent. It doesn't get any cooler than that!

So, I was happy to hear that Gabriel Knight creator Jane Jensen's latest adventure is coming out on the Xbox 360.

Gray Matter will be the first new full-size adventure game by the famous adventure author since the release of Gabriel Knight 3. Staying true to the Jensen-style, the story interweaves gruesome incidents and supernatural events.

"With the Xbox 360 release, Gray Matter can reach a broader audience, especially people who don’t play PC games very often. I’m very excited to see Gray Matter expanding to other platforms," said Jensen.

Other than some tweaks to the controls, the Xbox 360 version of the game will be identical to the PC version. Both versions are expected to release simultaneously in Q4 2010.

A new, mandatory Xbox 360 update rolled out today adding USB flash drive support. Up to 16 gigs of USB storage space can be used to hold a variety of information, including profiles and game saves. Downloadable games, demos, TV shows, movies and music can also be stored.

According to Microsoft, up to two flash drives can be connected at the same time, enabling up to 32GB of simultaneous storage.

Microsoft, of course, is offering its own USB drives - 8GB Xbox 360 USB Flash Drives for $34.99 and 16 GB Xbox 360 USB Flash Drives for $69.99 - but they say that third party devices will work as well.

Microsoft has created a FAQ to help those wishing to take advantage of USB storage, as well as a forum.

BioWare debunks The Old Republic Xbox 360 rumor

BioWare debunks The Old Republic Xbox 360 rumor
BioWare is putting an end to the current rumor that Star Wars: The Old Republic might be coming to the Xbox 360.

The rumor started after British retailer Game listed SWTOR as a console release.

However, on The Old Republic community forum, BioWare's Sean Dahlberg states that, right now, the game is being developed for the PC only.

I know many of you have heard this before but I'll go ahead and reiterate it for those of you who may be new: Star Wars: The Old Republic is currently being developed for the personal computer (PC) using the Microsoft® Windows® operating system. While we recognize that there are other operating systems and platforms available for games today, our development is specific to the personal computer using the Windows operating system at this time. As to why The Old Republic is on that list, we have no idea but to allay any confusion, we should not be on there.
