Mass Effect 2 is best selling January release ever

BioWare's epic space sequel, Mass Effect 2, is January's best selling release ever, according to NPD data released yesterday.

The game sold more than 572,000 units in January, which is a hell of a feat when you consider the fact that the game was released at the end of the month, January 26th, giving it only a handful of days to accumulate those sales.

The previous record holder was the PS2 title NFL Street. It sold over 325,000 units in January 2004.
