Bioware announces celebrity cast for Mass Effect 2

Bioware announces celebrity cast for Mass Effect 2
Bioware has officially announced the voice cast of Mass Effect 2, and it's a smorgasbord that's sure to delight many sci-fi geeks.

Actors Seth Green and Keith David will be reprising their roles as pilot Joker and Admiral Anderson, respectively.

There had been rumors about Martin Sheen's involvement in the sequel, but now it's confirmed that the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor will play the role of the Illusive Man who commands Cerberus, a secretive paramilitary organization dedicated to protecting human interests in the galaxy.

Rounding out the cast is the Matrix Trilogy's Carrie-Ann Moss as Aria T'Loak, the crime lord who rules the planet Omega; "Battlestar Galactica's" Tricia Helfer and Michael Hogan as the new voice of the Normandy and Captain Bailey; "Chuck" stars Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin as Cerberus operative Miranda Lawson and Kal 'Reegar; Star Trek's Michael Dorn as Gatatog Uvenk; and 2009 Emmy Award-winner Shohreh Aghdashloo as Admiral Shala'Raan vas Tonbay.

"Emotionally engaging narrative is a key design pillar for BioWare, and the top-notch voice talent in Mass Effect 2 helps drive this goal," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA. "Credible, powerful personalities are vital to delivering a compelling story experience in BioWare's games, and we have assembled an amazing ensemble cast that surpasses the very high bar set in the original Mass Effect!"

Fans of the first Mass Effect will be happy to know that Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer will also be returning as the voices of Commander Shepard.
