World of Warcraft turns 5!

World of Warcraft turns 5!
It's hard to believe it's been five years since Blizzard released their little MMORPG that could - World of Warcraft. Besides being the biggest subscription MMO on the market, WoW is also a cultural phenomenon, responsible for the likes of Leeroy Jenkins, new flavors of Mt. Dew, and one epic, award-winning South Park episode.

Over on Kotaku, Mike Fahey takes a look at how World of Warcraft built a nation.

The Escapist has some anniversary quizzes for those looking to test their WoW knowledge. I scored 100% on the Normal quiz and 60% on the Impossible quiz, a sure sign that cancelling my subscription (for the third time) wasn't such a bad idea.

For those wondering what life would have been like without World of Warcraft, The Escapist's John Funk takes a look, It's a Wonderful Life style, at a world without Warcraft.

Gamespy reminisces about the last five years with Blizzard's Jeffrey Kaplan and J. Allen Brack.

And, finally, here's a peek at Blizzard's latest commerical starring Mr. T and his Night Elf Mohawk.
