Bioshock 2 gets release date

2K Games announced today that a release date of February 9, 2010 has been set for the highly-anticipated sequel to 2007's Game of the Year, Bioshock 2.

Set 10 years after the events of the original game, Bioshock 2 sees you return to Rapture in the shoes of a Big Daddy as you work to solve the mystery of who has been snatching little girls from the surface and bringing them to the undersea city.

Multiplayer, a first for the series, will also be included. Set during the fall of Rapture, players assume the role of a plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions and will get to burn, freeze and shock their enemies, as well as pump them full of lead, all in the name of science and commercial opportunity.

The game is now available for pre-order at participating retailers.
