Aion has reached 400,000 preorders less than a week before it's official launch in the West, prompting NCsoft to call it "the biggest MMO release in recent years."
Already up and running on 225 servers across South Korea, Taiwan, China and Japan,
according to Gamasutra, the game made $32.7 million in revenue in NCsoft's last fiscal quarter. The publisher is hoping for similar success in the western market, and a second-place spot behind
World of Warcraft.
Tomorrow, everyone who has preordered the game will be allowed to pre-select their server. They'll then be able to get a headstart on Sunday, two days before the official release.
My friend and I will be playing Asmodians on a yet-to-be-decided server. Keep an eye out for my review of
Aion here on Hooked Gamers next week!
