The Magic of Clash of Heroes

The Magic of Clash of Heroes
I've played games from the Might and Magic universe for many years, and have loved some titles, and hated others. The franchise spans from turn based strategy to FPS and beyond, but it wasn't until this most recent game from a developer I'd never heard of that I really wanted to play a Might and Magic game every free moment that I had in the day.

It might seem strange for me to be posting about a game for a system I don't even own, but I hope that goes a long way to describe how great of a game I really think this is, and how much of an impact it had on me. After playing it at a friend's house, I started doing so pretty much every time they had their DS with them and were not using it. So what makes it so special exactly? Well it's hard to say.

The title comes from Capybar Games, a company that focuses mostly on titles for mobile devices. It sports very nicely done 2D graphics, with a few 3D effects that add a lot to the presentation. It also has a more than passable campaign story, considering that the game itself seems to be mostly geared toward multiplayer. The gameplay consists of a type of puzzle and RPG combination, but Bejewled this is not. It does use the ever popular 'match 3' or more formula, but it brings something unique to it with it's various nuances.

It combines things that are certainly tried and true in gaming with new takes on them and original ideas, and the result is a truly enjoyable experience. As I am not doing a full review of the title, and don't even own it or a DS, I won't even try to go much farther into picking it apart. I did just want to note however that it is the most fun I've had playing any DS game that anyone's ever showed to me.
