GRIN closes their doors
There was no laughter to be heard today when Swedish game developer GRIN announced that they will be closing their doors due to cash flow problems. They cited their publishers, more specifically, as delaying their payments to the point where they no longer were able to manage their financial situations.
Bo and Ulf Andersson founded the Stockholm based company in 1997, and during the years they produced a number of well known titles. Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and it's sequel, and both the remake of Bionic Commando (Rearmed) and the 2009 Bionic Commando game were all created by the company.
It's sad to see yet another developer going down under hard economic times, and even more so when publishers are cited as the main reason behind it. It's always a shame when any company is forced to close because of unfulfilled agreements, and it seems that developers more often than not, end up with the short end of the stick. This growing trend is definitely nothing to smile about.
