Train Simulator 2015 will include trains that don't even exist yet

Train fans rejoice! The choo-choo crew over at Dovetail Games have just announced that the next instalment in their popular Train Simulator series will include a train that hasn't even been put into service yet. Perhaps this is some kind of real-world Early Access programme?

Train Simulator 2015 will include trains that don't even exist yet

The Hitachi Class 800/801 is expected to go into passenger service on Great Britain's Great Western Main Line and East Coast Main Line in 2018, but Hitachi Rail Europe Ltd gave the Train Sim team everything they needed to bring the machines to life in Train Simulator 2015.
We’re delighted to be working with Dovetail Games and excited to see how they have brought the Class 800/801 to life in their software. As leaders in innovation we’re always looking for partners that share our passion for design and technology and we can’t wait to see how Train Simulator 2015 users enjoy the experience of driving our train.

TS2015 will also include the much anticipated 'TS Academy' - a sort of driving school for train drivers.
With the popularity of Train Simulator growing every year, we’ve listened to our customers and understood their desire for us to create a more accessible experience, especially at entry level to the game.
It all sounds very familiar if you ask me...

Train Simulator 2015 will be available via Steam from September the 18th. No word as yet on whether existing owners will get a free upgrade like they did from 2013 > 2014.
