Let's face it, Square Enix really knows how to make em. Here are the two (so far) hotties from FFXIII:


Lightning: The main character it looks like. Who wouldn't want to guide this chick around wherever the hell we are this time. I'm sure there will be Chocobo though...those things must reproduce like crazy if they've managed to live in all these universes.


No name: This girl I would have to say is hotter than Lightning. I mean who could resist those green eyes and that great hair? Hotty McHotHot is her name in my book for right now and I'll probably name her that when I play the game. Hotty McHotHot...has a nice ring to it doesn't it?


This picture makes me wondering about a few things. 1. Why does she look like she's 12 (and if she is now I feel dirty for saying a 12 year old is hot...the fact that she's not real is a whole other issue as well) and 2. WTF is that thing she's carrying? Does she prod people with that antler thing? She definitely got the shaft when it comes to weapons. Lightning got this sweet gun/sword dealy while Hotty McHotHot gets an antler? Unless this thing shoots out missiles or something like that, I won't be satisfied. Plus, with looks that can kill, shouldn't Square Enix be obligated to give her a better weapon? At this point she might as well just have the enemies stare at her for distraction...maybe call it something like Hottyaga or something like that (unless of course she's actually 12 in which case it's probably better not to give her a dangerous weapon that she could hurt herself with).

For the past week, Bungie has been building up to a huge announcement with a countdown at the bottom of their page. That clock has now stopped at 12 hours and they have now posted a message on their site. Visit Bungie.net to read the letter.

There has been speculation that this announcement was for a 3rd person, squad-based, and Master Chief-less game similar to Gears of War which would begin a new chapter in the Halo universe. Microsoft has since announced that Bungie is indeed working on a Halo game (that does not include Halo Chronicles, Peter Jackson's game).

Others have speculated that this may be another game altogether that Bungie will be working on since it's possible that they could be working on more than one game. Only time will tell, but as for now, we must wait...

There have been rumors that a new Halo series will be shown this week at E3. Only time will tell, but it appears that Bungie may be involved and there is a possibility it may take a squad-based spin close to the formula Gears of War has been using. If this is the case, count me in!

The game, slated to be released on Halloween 2008, looks like an interesting blend between RE4 and Metroid and has a dismemberment system that you'll actually have to use since shooting off limbs is the easiest way to take the mutants down. But don't let me tell you see for yourself!

There is a ton of exclusive E3 trailers and footage on gametrailers.com already so check it out. E3 starts on Monday so be sure to watch the other stuff as they get released.

Is the whole "console war" thing getting old? If no one comments on this story, I'll just assume you've all grown tired of never settling the endless argument over which game system is best.

According to analysts at DFC Intelligence, the winner of the console war will be...

...well there is no clear winner. But DFC has some speculation over how the next few years will pan out. Here's some info, in easily-digestible bullet point form:

* The Wii will "win" in terms of number of consoles sold.
* The PS3 will survive and thrive, overtaking the 360 in sales in 2009.
* Handhelds will continue to dominate: "The biggest story over the next few years may be the declining overall importance of the console systems."

Console War Predictions

For some reason, Ubisoft has decided that it wants you to quit smoking. I don't know what gave them this idea. I mean, there are so many benefits to smoking. It makes you look cool, smell amazing, and it even makes people respect you. And who can forget cancer, I mean, come on people! Ubisoft announced at Ubidays that they'll be teaming up with anti-smoking Guru Allen Carr to bring Allen Carr's Easyway to Stop Smoking to the Nintendo DS in November of this year.

Ubisoft stated, "Players will be actively participating in the game's content as they input the details of their smoking habits and even select their own Allen Carr's Easyway coach to take them through the process of quitting."

Sure it might help, but will it be fun?? Only time will tell.

In their recent announcement, Microsoft announced that Xbox Live Arcade titles would be delisted if they have been available for more than six months, have a Metacritic average of less than 65, and have a demo-to-full conversion rate of less than 6 percent. Only Microsoft knows the conversion rates, but MyGen compiled a list of games that fell under the other two criteria.

Microsoft has not released an official list of games that will be delisted yet, but fans might want to take a look at the list to see if there is anything they missed. You never know if the next time you see Defender will be your last.

Microsoft has said that if you've downloaded a game that is delisted, you will be able to redownload it if you you delete it off of your hard drive. Delisted games will also maintain regular multiplayer and leaderboard functionality. Here's the list of games they came up with:

As stated in the Xbox 360 magazine, Gears of War 2 will have some pretty cool new multiplayer options. They include the following:

• Ten person (5v5) online multiplayer
• Matchmaking similar to Halo
• Respawning multiplayer modes, but with the focus still on "Dead and you're out" gameplay
• Finishing moves against downed enemy including: curb-stomping, face-punching, pistol-whipping, and meat-shielding (using the enemy's body as a shield)
