Electronic Arts & Activision Settle Lawsuit Out Of Court

EA and Activision have settled their $400M lawsuit out of court. The lawsuit was brought about by Activision claiming that Electronic Arts had a hand in pulling Vince Zampella and Jason West out of Infinity Ward.

The two companies issued a brief (understatement) press release stating;
“Activision and EA have agreed to put this matter behind them."
It should be noted however that the West/Zampella lawsuit against Activision over their terminations from Infinity Ward is still a go and will go to trial on May 29.

Both West and Zampella were terminated from Infinity Ward back in 2010 over what Activision claims was "insubordination". West and Zampella went on to found the developing studio Respawn Entertainment with its first title being published by EA Partners.

Activision claimed that EA had "intentionally interfered" with West and Zampella while they were employed at Infinity Ward. Activision's attorneys requested a 30 day delay for the trial that set to begin at the end of the month, but were denied. That could be one reason behind the quick settling on Activision's behalf.
