Nintendo Direct: The Last Story Coming To The US, Kid Icarus, & More
Nintendo held its Nintendo Direct conference this morning with a few surprises in store for you Wii faithful.
The presentation was held by Satoru Iwata for the UK and Japan and Reggie Fils-Aime for the US contingent.
- The first bit of news was that The Last Story would be coming to the US this summer with XSEED handling the publishing duties.
- Xenoblade Chronicles will be released in the US on April 6 for the Nintendo Wii. The game's box art will be chosen by the fans.
- Kid Icarus: Uprising multiplayer was shown off with a mode labeled as "Fiend's Cauldron" where the mode will make use of the 3DS' AR card feature.
- Kid Icarus: Uprising will also utilize the StreetPass feature, allowing players to share weapons and such. Selected weapons can be turned into Weapon Gems which can them be turned into in-game weapons using the game's Hearts.
- Kid Icarus Uprising will release in both the US and Europe on March 23 with six AR cards included. If you pre-order the game you will receive an additional 24 AR cards. You will also be able to purchase the AR cards through Club Nintendo for 250 stars per pack.
- Mario Tennis Open was revealed to have competitive online multiplayer. The game will be out on the 3DS in the US on May 20 and in Europe on May 25.
- Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure will be releasing in Europe on April 5 for the 3DS. The game will be published by SEGA via a deal between the company and Nintendo of Europe. No US date was announced.
- It was announced that SEGA, Namco Bandai, and Capcom were teaming up to work on a project that was not named. The project will be a 3DS title.
