Battleship Announced By Activision
Activision and Hasbro Toys have announced a video game tie-in to the upcoming summer blockbuster Battleship.
Double Helix Games will be handling the developing duties. The game will offer up a combination of "strategic naval command" along with first-person gameplay. As a player you will be tasked with defending beaches while ordering attacks on enemy submarines in the water.
US warships that will be present in the game are; carrier, frigates, cruisers, destroyers, submarines, and the U.S.S. Missouri Battleship.
“Trapped in a veritable communications dead zone, Mathis must command the U.S. Navy fleet in a ‘siege on the sea,’ while simultaneously rallying the troops on land for a terrifying ‘war on the shore.’”
The game will release in the US and Europe for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in May. There will be a 3DS and Wii version of the game developed by Magic Pockets due out at the same time.
