Namco Bandai: "Free-To-Play Games Can't Be High Quality"

According to one Namco Bandai executive, free-to-play games can not exactly be the highest quality titles you'll end up playing.

Apparently Oliver Comte, NB's senior vice president for Europe, thinks that free-to-play titles decrease the value of triple-A titles. It's becoming a popular stance by the big time video game publishers as Nintendo has taken a similar stance against smartphones.
“Free-to-play games can’t be high quality."

“We need to put certain value on certain work,” he said.

“When you’re a big company, you can’t take risks too quickly, you can’t make a change just because there’s a fashion for a couple of years; you want to be there in 20 or 30 years,” he added.
