Analyst Says: Max Payne 3 Could Cost Rockstar $105M To Develop

According to Arvind Bhatia, a video games analyst for Sterne Agee, has gone on record as saying that Rockstar's upcoming title, Max Payne 3, could end up costing the publisher in excess of $105 million to develop.

By estimations that would mean that the game would have to sell more than 4 million units just to cover its costs. Apparently the analyst came up with the numbers by going off of averages of the first two Max Payne titles, which have sold more than 7 million units combined.

Bhatia added that he thinks that Max Payne 3 could be a surprise hit and is highly anticipated, which is reasoning behind his 4 million unit mark.

Max Payne 3 was given a March 2012 release date for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
