Uplay Passport Missing From North American 360 Copies of Driver: SF
According to several retailers throughout North America, their copies of Ubisoft's just released title, Driver: San Francisco, are missing the Uplay Passport code, for the 360 version, that allows the game to be played online.
Driver: SF is the first Ubisoft title to employ the Uplay Passport, taking notes after EA started their "online pass". The missing codes first surfaced in a report by
Joystiq. The North American copies of the game contain a card that can be used to access some free DLC for the game but are definitely missing the Passport for online play.
In a report by
CVG, Ubisoft have apparently acknowledged the report by stating that the thousands upon thousands of Passports were printed incorrectly and they are working on a solution.
As a fix, however, Ubisoft is making their online purchase of the Ubisoft Passport free until the problem is solved.
“When you begin Driver: San Francisco, you are prompted with the Uplay Passport menu. The menu has 4 options: “Purchase Uplay PASSPORT,” “Activate my Uplay PASSPORT,” “Start my 2-Day Free Trial,” or “Remind Me Later”.
“There are two ways to access these online features: 1. Select Start My 2-Day Free Trial, which will not expire, OR 2. Select Purchase Uplay Passport, which will be provided at no charge. Either option will unlock the 11 multiplayer modes and the Film Director feature on console titles with Uplay Passport.”
