Video Game Analyst Predicts SW:tOR Will Move 3 Million Copies Its First Year

Cowen and Company analyst firm has predicted that BioWare's upcoming MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic will move more than 3 million units its first year.

According to the company the 3 million figure was obtained by analyzing pre-order numbers. The firm also states that more people are looking forward to the MMO than were StarCraft II or SCII: Cataclysm, which was released last year.

The firm had originally come up with a 1.5 million figure months ago but have since doubled it due to the positive buzz around the game.

A world-wide beta is expected to kick off for the game next month with the actual game slated to release some time before the end of the year, only on the PC.
