BioWare: Star Wars: The Old Republic Could Last For 'Decades'

When BioWare says that their plan for Star Wars: The Old Republic is to have you playing the MMORPG for the next 20 years, they weren't lying.

Speaking at the developer's Comic-Con panel over the weekend, the game's senior creative director James Ohlen stated that the fact that the game has over 19 worlds in its universe lends to the credence that "decades" might not be a so far off timeline for how long it might take you to complete the game.

Hell, if World of Warcraft can get one decade under their belts why can't an MMO set in the Star Wars universe double that?
“Well, I can say that we have 19 major worlds. Then we have an indeterminate number of minor worlds."

“And our goal, obviously this being an online game, that we’re hoping is going to last for decades, we’re going to be, obviously, adding more to the galaxy map as the game progresses. We want to add dozens of worlds. Hundreds of worlds eventually. In 2025, we’ll hopefully have 500 worlds.”
Anyone planning on not leaving their basements once the game drops better stack up supplies in advance.

The game is due out this holiday season.
