Activision Could Shut Down PlayStation Network Black Ops Servers
Activision has told some of their PlayStation 3 Call of Duty: Black Ops players, who subsequently have had their accounts hacked through the Black Ops servers, that they may end up shutting the servers down completely to try to solve the hacking problems.
Activision's senior support representative, Dov Carson, recently replied to
Jason Koblovsky's concerns and complaints by saying that the company is prepared to pull support for the game from the PSN servers.
“The publishers have the right to shut down the servers for their game at any time as well which based on the number of reported posts from users may be a viable solution over the free PSN,” he wrote.
Carson did suggest that Koblovsky return his Black Ops disc to Activision for a "one time" courtesy to exchange the game for another Activision title, another version of Black Ops, or an unopened disc to return to the original retailer.
Sony should probably be a bit worried.
